Books
Finally managed to read the Liu Cixin’s The three body problem and The dark forest. This led me to read further on the cultural revolution and the history of modern China. It reads well, but still classical masculine SF. I enjoyed much more Embassytown from China Mieville that I read this summer or the Broken Earth Trilogy from N. K. Jemisin.
Started reading Brutalisme from Achille Mbembe in parallel.

- Les raisons du phénomène Jean-Marc Jancovic (JMJ), via @cyptasset
I’ve been following JMJ for a few years now, got to know his work via a former classmate who went to a prestigious engineering school in France. The mix of tech/engineering centric discourse, love for nuclear energy blended with low tech solutions, while avoiding naive tech solutionism, all mixed with a funding model based on consulting/philanthropy has always intrigued me. It’s nice to see some unpacking of his discourse that has been hugely popular among engineers. - This led me to read on Vaclav Smil via @picharbonnier
- A critique of James C. Scott
- Is climate change mitigation a life skill ? from Alexandra Deschamps-Sonsino
